Easing into the Autumn season 🍂
The trees are about to show us how beautiful it is to let go.
As the weather gets cooler, it is normal to mourn the loss of long days in the warm sun at the beach or at the park.
2 easy ways to take your health into your own hands
Do you feel more pressure now than ever to take your health and the health of your family into your own hands? If so, you’re not alone. It’s pretty clear that our medical system is poised at worst case scenarios and ‘damage control’. While this type of care is critical, there’s very little education around prevention – not to mention the reversal of chronic illness. If there’s a drug for that – then that tends to be the solution.
5 reasons we should ALL do a late summer cleanse ☀️
Early on in my practice, I was a detox die hard. I started every new client on an elimination diet right away, encouraging them to cleanse a minimum of twice yearly, and ideally four times per year. (How draconian of me! I remember some of my colleagues were so shocked that I could convince folks to follow a 2-week elimination diet at the very first visit!)
It’s okay to feel tired right now (& how to replenish)
Have you been feeling unsure of what’s next, unmotivated, or just plain tired (even though we are in the glory days of summer)?
If so, you could be going through a change. It’s possible you’re transitioning the way you orient yourself in relation to society to a 5D existence (spiritually oriented) from a 3D existence (materially oriented). Many are making this transition currently.
The hidden ingredient to staying AHEAD of your allergies 🌱
If you experience chronic allergies, or if your current allergy protocol only provides partial relief, then there’s a secret ingredient you may want to explore. It’s called nervous system regulation, and it can go a long way towards supporting your immune system and overall health in general.
Is the seasonal transition triggering you?
The adjustment to spring is a BIG one for our bodies – both physically and energetically. While beautiful new life bursting forth can feel so energizing, our energetic system can register it as intrusive. It’s very common to feel ungrounded, have digestive/elimination challenges and even have trouble with sleep as our gears are shifting.
Root to Rise: 5 tips for spring transition 🌱
Winter hit me SO much harder than in years past – has it for any of you?
Signs of self-love deficiency
Are you a hearts and chocolate lover that gets gooey over Valentine’s Day, or do you see it as a Hallmark holiday? There’s no right or wrong way! Some of my favorite Valentine’s Days have been self-care ‘Galentine’s’ Days.
7 things that dim your light
After these past two years, it’s completely normal to feel worn down, unmotivated and uninspired. To me, it feels like we are experiencing a collective soul loss. (Well maybe not Texas- I just got back from a trip, and things feel great there).
Quit your resolutions! (and do this instead) ✨
Do you create intentions or a ‘word’ for the New Year? There’s no right or wrong way. Just a friendly reminder that we are in the dead of winter so it is still a time for resting and replenishing. Winter is the season our energy renews itself, and when we reinforce this through rest, THEN we can build better momentum on our intentions come Spring.
Skate through cold & flu season without getting sick (I can help)
Winter is a time of letting go and going within … along with … slowing down and making space for deep rest. When we follow this rhythm, we do right by our immune system. Together, let’s prepare for a healthy and nourishing winter!
Trusting your gut – not the mainstream media 🔥
Even though things took a turn, a big turn, I still believe in and fully trust our body’s healing wisdom—our immune system.
Doing everything you can to strengthen your 1mmunity is THE game for now.
The sooner you become well equipped to fight off infections from your OWN medicine cabinets, the better!
What does your Ancestry have to do with Your Health?
In naturopathic medicine, one of our core principles of practice is to remove obstacles to the body’s innate vital healing force.
What if one of those obstacles happened to be something your body thinks it needs to survive? That what could be holding you back from truly feeling well is an energetic pattern that once kept an ancestor of yours alive? And that because this very pattern ensured their survival, it then got passed along to the descendants. A pattern that could have gotten your ancestors through war, famine, forced migration, or acts of violence.
The missing piece to the art of manifesting (this may help)
Have you noticed that you can’t scroll very far on social media without seeing an enticing post about ‘manifesting’? Maybe it’s the perfect partner, dream vacation, or all that cash that they’re promising you?
It’s happened to ALL of us at some point
Do you ever reflect upon your old beliefs, or ways of operating? They ‘ways’ that you’ve released and are no longer part of your current ‘operating system’? (and gratefully so, as it makes for more freedom in the present!)
Did you know that ‘Holding Space’ is ALL WRONG?
When a group of people gets together, the energy amplifies, so it is a much stronger support for all of our intentions. I also realize that as an empath, I become part of the group process, so this reset was a learning experience and a very powerful shift for me. I got very clear and grounded (the anti-inflammatory diet combined with all the self-care rituals created a more powerful impact), and I have increased awareness, focus, and energy – all of which helped me to feel more connected to my body. As a result, I have an even greater sense of my own sensitivity.
Feeling Too Sensitive for the Current Times?
What if I were to ask you what you’d like to create for yourself? Would it be something like: fulfillment, stability, purpose, freedom, creativity, or possibly vibrant health? Are you able to visualize or get a felt sense of these intentions in your body … or do they feel far off?
Preventative Strategies for Staying Well During Tick Season
It’s our favorite time of year to enjoy the great outdoors, and after all this hole-ing up, we really deserve some space. Do you do regular tick checks after having gone on a hike? If not, now is the time to start! The deer tick population has sky rocketed recently, and it is estimated that over 50% of deer ticks carry the pathogen that causes Lyme’s disease – a potentially devastating illness that can affect multiple organ systems.
Want to Become a Better You?
The unpredictability of the weather here in the Mid Atlantic never ceases to amaze me! As I write this, there is a wild wind storm that has knocked out power for a few blocks. Winds of vast change would be welcome, in my opinion, because, no matter what your perspective is – antsy to settle into a new normal, or grieving the loss of greater freedoms – it just seems like we need an entirely new way. Recently, it’s also been a time of unprecedented phenomenon in the field of women’s health – you can hear more on the video and on my blog.
My Unexpected Allergy Relief Miracle!
Right when the sun is shining and the birds are singing, some of us want to isolate and turn inward. Grouchiness is not uncommon for many of us this time of year. Doesn’t apply to you? That’s great – there are many of us who need more time to adjust to the extremely extroverted energy of Spring. We can feel so exposed—especially after such a solitary and depleting winter. Check out this video about the phenomenon of Spring depression.
