Crisis management homeopathy: when the inner child takes the wheel

I want to echo what many of us are feeling: 2026 has gotten off to a rocky start.

Many nervous systems are still recalibrating from the aftershock of last week’s events rooted in hatred and violence, as well as from the dense energetic field those events set in motion. From my perspective, constant commentary and repetitive replay only amplify and solidify the very intolerance we are here to heal. We are far better served by stepping away from division and reinvesting our energy in ourselves, our relationships, and our communities.

In moments of collective or personal crisis, it is often our wounded inner child that rushes forward to save the day. This part of us learned how to survive overwhelm long ago - through fight, flight, freeze, or collapse. When activated, it can hijack the nervous system and pull us out of alignment with our grounded, resourced adult self.

This is where crisis-management homeopathy (Dr. Marie's term) can be supportive.

A brief clarification: this is not a classical approach to homeopathy which aims to treat the whole person. It is situational support used to help stabilize the nervous system during acute emotional or energetic overwhelm. (Many classical homeopaths would criticize this, but I’m sharing what I have found helpful both clinically and personally)

In crisis states, the remedy lands at the level of activation - our wounded inner child, helping calm survival responses so the adult self can come back online to be able function in daily life.

When something big comes up for me, I to respond well to higher potencies:

  • 200C - once daily for 3–5 days (3-5 pellets under tongue)

  • 1M - single dose (3-5 pellets under tongue)

There are many acute remedies - these are my current go-tos.

  • Aconite - shock, fear, vigilance, also numbness, apathy, feeling disconnected/dissociated or frozen

  • Arnica - often thought of for physical injury, but also deeply useful after emotional shock, when an old wound resurfaces, following a jarring experience, or in the aftermath of a breakup. (I’ve found Arnica can significantly speed healing when the system feels bruised, tender, or “hit,” even when the injury isn’t visible.)

  • Causticum - righteous indignation, “raging against the machine,” excess moral urgency or duty to speak up even when the nervous system is overwhelmed

  • Ignatia - lump in the throat, grief, excitation, emotional contradiction

  • Pulsatilla - extreme sensitivity, regression, overwhelm, excessive crying, desire to collapse and avoid responsibility, holding oneself back in life

And as if the collective terrain weren’t enough- we’re still in the shedding phase of the year. The Wood Snake cycle continues through February 17, keeping us in a liminal window energetically, physiologically, and psychologically.

With the Fire Horse cycle beginning mid-February, this transition has been particularly intense. We’re shedding for another month, and consistent, gentle support matters now more than ever.

Winter asks us to go slower than our culture allows. It is the shadow season of the water element - a time when doing less creates space for what is outdated to surface, resolve, and finally exit, as long as we remain resourced and connected.

I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks about how to work with this season - and about something I’ve been developing to support moments exactly like this.

If you’re feeling the weight of this time and sense you could use support, I’m here. You’re welcome to book a free 20-minute consult to explore whether my work is a good fit for where you are currently and how I can best support your 2026 wellness intentions.

With care,
Dr. Marie
